Many families provide primary care for their impaired elders. The burden of care, however, is not shared equally among all family members. Most care is provided by adult women in the family. The trends, burden, motivation, and implications related to family care-givers are discussed. This area of concern is pertinent to health care professionals since the primary phenomenon in all health care settings is caregiving. |
