The size of activated sludge flocs in relation to their surface characteristics

Title: The size of activated sludge flocs in relation to their surface characteristics
Author: Forster, C. F.
Appeared in: Environmental technology
Paging: Volume 4 (1983) nr. 8-9 pages 329-334
Year: 1983-08
Contents: The surfaces of activated sludge play an important role in determining the nature of the floc structure and therefore the bulk properties of the sludge (eg. settlement, rheology). This paper examines how a study of the particle sizes after thermal and biochemical treatment can be used to aid the understanding of floc structure.
