This article presents the findings of a study of language skills used by Higher Education students of Leisure and Tourism during their work placement periods and in subsequent employment. Employers in the leisure and tourism industry were also surveyed to establish their views on language requirements. The study highlights the languages and the type of language skills considered most relevant and the areas of difficulty encountered by students when applying these skills. |
